Create Your Own Bath Salt

Bath salts are a good pampering treat when bathing. While there are a lot of good bath salts available in the market, others can be chemically-treated or are way too expensive. Choosing the wrong chemically treated bath salts can decrease the therapeutic effects, so some people like to make them from home instead.

You can easily make bath salt at home and even make them scented or add pretty colors. Here are some basic recipes in making your own personal bath salt.

Basic Bath Salt
- For one medium-size jar of bath salt, combine one part Epsom salt to two parts of sea salt. This is all you need to do to make your own bath salts. But if you want a scented bath salt, you can add at least 10 drops of aromatic oil into the mixture and thoroughly mix it. You can increase the strength of the scent by adding at least five drops more or be conservative and decrease it by 5 for a lighter scent.

Easy Bath Salt recipe
- You can also make a bath product such as bath salts using ingredients you can find at your kitchen. Combine equal parts of rock salt or kosher salt, baking soda and Epsom salt. Mix them thoroughly and store in a jar. This recipe is fast and simple enough for personal use. Add a minimum of 5 drops of aromatic essential oils if you want it to be scented.

Herbal Salt Baths
- Instead of ready-made scents, you can infuse salt with fresh herbs and get its full health and aromatic effect. In a jar, add a one inch layer of salt, and then add chopped herbs such as rosemary or lavender. Next, put another inch of salt, and then add another layer of chopped herbs. Keep repeating this process until the jar gets full. Put a piece of plastic on top and seal. After about two weeks, the salt will have absorbed all the aromatic and health goodness of the herbs. This is as natural and fresh as it can be. You will definitely get hooked to bathing after using this bath salt recipe.

You can also experiment and give other non-traditional bath salt scents a try. You can use lemon, cinnamon, vanilla or mint for your next bath salt recipe. A color additive can make your bath salts more attractive but at times, it is better to avoid them as artificial colors can be a cause of allergies for some people. Besides, most people prefer natural ingredients in their bath salts.

You can make these as a hobby or when you get to learn the ropes and become better at making the perfect bath salts, you can even make this a profitable business. Make your bath salt more appealing by packaging properly and attractively. You can use sticker labels where you can put relaxing images and the natural ingredients that you used.

Brand your products by adding your name or company name to the label. You can put ribbons around the jar when giving it as a gift or you can even add a hang tag. Your bath salts will not just be practical, but the accessories and packaging can add to an even more beautiful product.

Bridal Beauty

People say that the bride is the center of a wedding's attention. For the camera often catches unflattering glitter and paleness, making the star of the evening look like a ghost. If that is the thing worrying you then find out what you must look into when planning your wedding makeup that coins well with your wedding dress and personality.

Every bride deserves to be the very special lady of the day and look her best. The hairdo, the makeup, the bridal trousseau and how the bride conducts herself is the focus of everybody's attention on this day and you will certainly feel much more comfortable, if you have already done the dress rehearsal first .

Remember, you have to balance the eye makeup with lip makeup. In case you want to go for dramatic eyes, go for a light-color lip shade. If you are using a dark lipstick, it is better to have natural, light eyes. Never ever forget to apply the foundation on your neck, back, ears and other exposed areas of the body as well. Otherwise, your face will look painted on and your beauty - artificial. When choosing a fragrance for your wedding day, wear one of your favorites. This is no time for surprises! Layer the perfume to create a magical aura of scented pleasure.

For the next step, you may use a sponge or brush for the application of foundation, which should be the exact color as your skin tone. This serves as the base makeup. Next, work on your eye makeup. You may use the powdered type and apply with a slanted brush instead of just using pencil to define the eyebrows. For the eye makeup, it is important to choose a dark, medium and light color. The medium color of eye shadow can be the base, which you need to apply on the entire eyelid, going inside out.

Apply two layers of waterproof mascara, having few seconds pause between, to avoid smudging Make sure you use smudge proof eye makeup. Wedding ceremonies take a longer time and you might rub the eyes accidentally. Eye shadow should compliment your skin tone and the outfit your wear. Use eyelashes for a dramatic look.

The first step is wedding hair and bridal makeup plans should ideally be formulated at least 3-4 months before the event. Have your hair stylist show you some pictures of their work on brides or of special event hair styles. Bring the wedding hair pictures displaying the styles you like the best. Pictures of wedding hair styles are one of the best ways to avoid bridal hair disasters. Pictures will help eliminate misunderstandings between you and your hair stylist.

Deep warm lip colors such as yellowish and orangish browns; mahogany, deep warm reds and chocolate and deep cool shades such as cool brown, taupe, deep purple, plum and blue-toned burgundy underplay too much thickness of lips. The subtle look can be achieved by using the air-brush a lot and sticking to light shades such as cream, gold, lime green and brown for warm skin undertones and lilac, plums and soft pink for cool skin undertones.

Nail Care

If your nails are not attractive and healthy it will be obvious when you shake hands with people or simply introduce yourself. These days taking proper care of your nails is important for both men and women due to the reasons mentioned above. For men, however there is a stigma attached to going to a nail salon or purchasing a nail kit, and even for women the cost of a professional manicure can be prohibitive.

Nail Moisturizer is a product that does not recognize gender and nobody will notice that you are using a nail product, yes, you my fellow male friend. Even nowadays, many men feel embarrassed if someone discovers them applying a product to improve the condition of their nails. Nail Care should be a part of your regular beauty routine as your well groomed nails will give you instant beauty credibility.

Clean finger nails are essential for the modern man. If you work in an occupation that regularly gets the nails dirty, start a process, if you have not already of scrubbing the nails clean every day. Some men care for their nails during their shower time - a reasonable option if there is not a water shortage, but a better way of cleaning the nails is to clean them immediately before or after the shower. Use a fingernail brush - they are available from health, chemist and pharmacy shops.

Before you apply color to the nails, they must be cleaned and the easiest way to do this is with cotton buds. Dip the cotton buds into nail polish remover and then rub over the surface of the nail. Remove any creamy creamy residue. When none remains, your nails are ready for polishing. Now its time to add some color. Pick up a small amount of polish on your brush and paint one stroke down the center of your nail. Your brush should hold just enough color to accomplish this. Stroke the sides of the nail and you are done.

One of the most common techniques for nail care is manicuring. Professionals in manicuring have enough knowledge on nail care. Significantly, it is much appropriate to seek professional manicuring every month to maintain nail health and beauty. However, availing a professional manicurist is costly. But do not let price despair you.

The abrasive disc helps in shaping your nails in a certain shape and length while the callus removes the dead skin around your nails. The round polishing disc helps in smoothening the surface of your nails and is ideally used just before applying nail polish. The creams and gels are meant for moisturizing your nails, soothe cracked or damaged cuticles and strengthen and make your nails appear healthier.

As we know a nail is made of a hard protein that is called keratin. This protein is building blocks that make up the body. The nail concern protect fingers end and toes from trauma and it also help to pick up small objects. This is a good practice to keep your nail clean, polished and feminine and try to use various nail care tips that give you perfect nails that always liked.

Real Shortstops Don't Chew Their Gloves

Growing up with an older brother (Garland) and two order cousins (Earle and Harvey) who lived across the garden from us meant that I often was assigned to the more inconsequential roles in games and sports. For example, all us neighbor kids played baseball in a clearing in our orchard; actually, the clearing was the infield, and any ball hit out of the infield went into the orchard. I was stationed to the right of 2nd base where a pear tree grew about 10 feet behind the bag. I positioned myself securely behind the trunk, placed my teeth firmly into the thumb of my baseball glove, and prayed "Dear God, don't let the ball come to me". I kid you not; I still have that glove, complete with the tooth marks of a seven-year-old.

If I ever ventured forth from the safely of that spot in the crotch of that comforting old pear tree, I have no memory of it. I think I played out several seasons in that position, which might partially explain why later, when I went out for high school baseball, I was less than awesome. I tried to play shortstop like a normal person, but when you're used to a pear tree shielding you from hard ground balls and line drives, it's hard to get accustomed to standing out in the open. I tried hard, too, not to bite my glove, but the taste of leather seemed so soothing that it was a temptation I found difficult to resist.

My baseball career came to a crashing halt when I was playing for the 8th grade team at E.V. Cain Elementary School. It was a pop fly to the infield, and the 2nd baseman and I both called for the ball, then collided, allowing the ball to drop untouched by human hands, in turn allowing the winning run to score. The incident itself was common enough, but when really teed off my coach was that I apparently had the thumb of my glove in my mouth while I was looking up at the ball.

"Shinn, I can't believe you had your glove in your mouth! If you need to suck your thumb, find someplace else to do it. A baseball field is not the place."

I suppose that's why I took up the trombone. Nobody yells at you when you have a mouthpiece in or around your mouth, and I didn't have to worry about line drives or collisions with other band members. Besides, my big brother Garland played the trombone, and he helped me get started. Tommy Dorsey was big in those days, and he played a piece titled "Tromboneology" that Garland was learning, and that intrigued me, too, with its' clever and jazzy moves. I visualized myself up on the bandstand, adoring fans staring at me in starry-eyed adulation, playing the great swing tunes of the day. I improvised deftly through the multi-faceted chord changes of Cherokee, and then suavely broke into the smoothest version of Stardust you could imagine. The crowd went wild. I could hardly finish my solo before the thunderous applause drowned out the band.

My fantasy-dream was rudely interrupted by the annoyed voice of Mr. Newcomb, my 8th grade band director.

"Shinn, what in the world are you doing? The rest of us are playing "Stars And Stripes Forever." Would you care to join us?"

The rest of my trombone career went somewhat better. In high school I worked my way up to 3rd chair, sitting behind Sybil McKenna, the excellent fat first chair, and Ola Lee Murchison, the 6'6" skinny multi-talented athlete and 2nd chair (who went on to play football for that new expansion team, the Dallas Cowboys), and ahead of a friend named Gary, who wasn't much in music but later saved me from flunking chemistry by cramming me full of formulas the night before the final. Even if we hadn't sat in that order, you could always tell who the best trombonists were, as the eyeballs of the rest of us would be titled toward them seeing what position their slides were in. Trombonists can't turn their heads without moving their slides, so eyeballs had to swivel dramatically to the left or right, depending upon where the superior trombonists were sitting. But since we sat in the order of our ability, all eyeballs of the entire section were leaning left, toward the first and second chairs. I was the closest to the only two trombonists who could read music, so I would watch Ola's slide, Gary would watch my slide, and so on down the line. Our director once suggested that we would save on eyestrain if we learned to read the notes ourselves, an idea that had not occurred to us until then. I worked on that some, but found Ola's hand a more direct route to the correct note. Nevertheless, between note reading and eyes-left-to-Ola's-slide-reading, I did pretty well in high school band. Well enough, in fact, that by my senior year I was selected as the third most likely band member to succeed. A buddy named Mike, a wonderful tenor sax player, was chosen as most likely to succeed, followed by Ola. And while we certainly appreciated the selections at the time, they turned out to be fairly inaccurate. Neither Mike nor Ola nor I play our instruments much anymore, but a kid who nobody noticed and played oboe; the only oboe in our band; now plays with the Portland Symphony. Funny how things change as time goes by.

In our band building were a series of small practice rooms, with little windows in each door so that you could look in to see if the room was occupied. All sorts of wild and wonderful things went on in those little rooms, including the conjugation of Latin verbs to the tune of the 1st three notes of Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# Minor. "Vini, vidi, vinos" we would sing in unison, and then laugh so hard we thought we would throw up. Mr. Walker, the bachelor choir leader, never thought it was funny, however, and we often found ourselves ejected from the practice rooms. It was a wonderful learning aid for Latin, however, and the "B" that I got from Miss Estes owed a great deal to those musical conjugations.

Snowboarding Motivated Amy Purdy to Continue Living Life Her Way!

Copyright (c) 2012 SnowAnd

To observers snowboarding is just another action sport. Such individuals have a difficult time understanding why some snowboarders love spending their holidays and weekends on the slopes. Why they are so finicky about selecting snowboards for sale? To a non-snowboarders all snowboards might look the same, however a passionate snowboarder would tell you the difference between snowboards for sale in detail. Snowboarding is an amazing sport that has made a huge difference in countless individuals' lives. Take Amy Purdy for example, according to her, she dreamt of snow as a kid in the heat of Las Vegas desert and then one day, at the age of 14 she discovered snowboarding and fell in love with it. As a teenager she used to utilize every holiday and weekend off to go snowboarding. Purdy wanted a life filled with adventure and at the age of nineteen she was ready to fly.

Things took a drastic turn, when one day out of the blue Amy collapsed. In 24 hours, she was put on life support because her lungs weren't working. What Amy had thought was a just a flu the previous day, turned out to be the deadly disease meningitis. The harmful bacteria attack the protective membranes of an individual's brain and spinal cord causing severe damage to the patient's body. In Amy's case, the meningitis not only cost her legs but also her spleen, a kidney and the hearing in her left ear. According to Amy, losing her legs was actually the 'easiest part.' When Amy woke up from coma, she had to start her life over again and it wasn't easy.

According to her speech on Tedx, when she first saw her rubber and chunky legs it was too painful. She wondered how she is going to travel and lead the adventurous life she wanted. Amy remembered her passion for snowboarding and she didn't want to give it up. Amy spent long periods of time wondering if and how she could continue on with her life. That's when she realized that her life was exactly that, her life and that it was up to her to conitue on, it was up to her to make things happen, life was hers to map the way she wants. After the realization that she could still continue with her adventurous lifestyle, Amy started seeing her amputated legs as a blessing, suddenly Amy figured out that he had the upper hand when it came to her legs.

For example, now she can be as tall as she wants, her legs will never feel cold during snowboarding and she even can try any shoe size she wants. These thoughts and ideas pushed her to walk again and soon she was back on a snowboard but It wasn't an easy journey. When Amy first started to snowboard with her new legs she discovered they weren't suitable for riding and no snowboard store or any of the many different snowboards for sale would help her with her new leg issues. This led to Amy designing her own snowboards. By using her brain and by not giving up, she came up with special snowboard that worked well with her new legs and after what seemed like a lifetime, Amy was finally back on the snow and doing the things she loves the most.

Today, Amy Purdy has three World Cup gold medals in adaptive snowboarding and when she's not out riding she loves to skate wakeboard. She is an actress, entrepreneur, model and a makeup artist who's biggest challenge turned into her her biggest strength. In her speech on Tedx, she confessed she wouldn't change a thing in her life. Her passion for life and snowboarding pushed her to continue with pursuing the things she loved.

This is why everybody needs a passion in their life. For Amy it was snowboarding and her dreams for new adventure. For us, it's snowboarding and finding the correct snowboard for sale has never been easier! Get moving now, go find a snowboard that fits you and get your butt up the hill!

How To Cure Your Golf Slice

Golfing is a great sport because it can be played by people of all ages and gets you outdoors for exercise and social interaction with friends and business colleagues. But it can also be a frustrating game because of the difficulty of hitting that little white ball with any degree of consistency.

One of the most frustrating problems most golfers face is the tendency to "slice" the ball. Usually the slice develops after the beginning golfer has started to hit the ball reasonably well and a fairly good distance. That's when the dreaded slice rears its ugly head.

Slicing happens when a right handed golfer hits the ball so it has a horrible curve to the right, or a left handed golfer hits it so it curves to the left. As any reasonably knowledgeable golfer will tell you, the slice is the result of "coming across" the ball with an "outside in" swing. As the club sweeps across the ball, the club strikes the ball in a slightly "open" position. This action puts sidespin on the ball and as it moves through the air it curves to the right (or left for a lefty).

Exactly the same thing happens in baseball when a right handed batter hits the ball down the right field line or a left handed batter hits it down the left field line. The ball curves away from the field towards the foul line. This slicing action also happens in other sports where a bat or racquet is used to strike a ball - sports such as tennis, ping pong, racquet ball, and cricket. And even in sports where simply throwing the "ball" with clockwise sidespin makes it curve to the right - think of bowling, lawn bowling and curling for example.

In many sports curving the ball like this is an important part of the game. Ping pong and tennis players, for instance, want the ball to curve as it approaches their opponent and then bounce off the paddle or racquet at an odd angle making it more difficult for the opponent to control the return.

But in golf a slice is almost always a negative thing the golfer wants to get rid of. That's because a slicing shot doesn't go as far because of the energy lost by the spinning, curving ball. The result is even worse in windy conditions where the increased wind resistance exaggerates the effects of sidespin. A slicing ball hit into a stiff breeze will often "balloon" up into the wind and almost appear to be coming back towards the golfer.

In spite of all the magical cures touted in magazine articles and golf videos, the only way to cure a slice is to learn to hit the ball correctly - with a square club face that is moving on a natural arc from slightly inside the line of flight.

It takes most golfers years and thousands of practice shots to learn how to do this. That's because there is such a natural tendency to begin the swing by throwing the shoulders out at the ball. That gets the clubhead out there on the wrong side of the target line of flight - on the "outside" - and the only way to actually hit the ball from that position is to bring the clubhead back inside at an angle to the intended line of flight. That's what is meant by "coming across" the ball.

Most beginning golfers have a difficult time understanding and visualizing this process. They think they are swinging on a perfectly square line straight through the ball and down the intended line of flight. But an experienced golfer who has already learned all about slices from his own struggles with the game can usually tell an inside out swing from 50 or 100 yards away without even watching the clubhead at all. There are certain moves that are so typical of a slice that they can be picked up almost immediately by an experienced observer.

That is why a golf simulator can be such a valuable tool in the struggle to overcome a slice. You may have noticed commercial locations that offer virtual rounds of golf, or facilities in some of the larger golf equipment chains that have an area that allows the buyer to try out golf clubs before making an expensive purchase.

Most golfers go to an indoor driving range or a virtual golf location and just bang away at the simulator as if they were out on the range pounding out drivers. But the fact is, a really good golf simulator can do much more than just tell you how far you have hit the ball. It can be a great tool to show you the exact shape of your swing and tell you exactly why you are slicing or hooking the ball.

Equipped with sensors, cameras, and a big-screen display, the golf simulator translates the details of a golf swing to ball motion on the display. Once the data on your particular swing is collected, you can view the results on a display. You can see an accurate representation of your swing, the actual flight path of your ball, your club face angle at impact, and exactly where and when the ball begins to turn, given all the variables that went into a particular swing. Most of the better units allow you to hit an untethered ball, and virtually play golf courses from all over the world

If you are serious about curing your slice, there is no doubt that taking a analytical, objective look at your actual swing is the place to start. And there is no more effective way to get that kind of swing analysis than with a golf simulator.

There are now even high quality units that you can set up right in your home. Rather than spending hundreds of dollars at an indoor driving range or virtual golf facility for an hour or two of practice every week, you can have your own quality golf simulator right in your rec room, basement or garage.

A good home system will let you work on your game for hours and hours till you groove the correct swing path. It will give you all the analytical tools you need to improve your swing. The better units will tell you your clubhead speed, your clubface angle at impact, your clubhead's angle of approach to the ball, and how far the ball would have gone out on a real golf course.

Of course the technology cannot simulate the foul weather, wild winds, and rugged terrain that come into play on a real golf course. But perhaps these are factors that you can do without when you simply want to concentrate on grooving a new more effective swing.

The proponents of this exciting new technology claim that for a committed student of the game, such a device can correct errors in swing mechanics better than traditional techniques or even lessons from a professional teacher.

The Turbulence Training Fat Reduction Technique: Here We Are Going To Be Evaluating This Product

If you've been looking for ways to lose weight, exercise and lose that unwanted fat, you will like this article. Here we are planning to look at the Turbulence Training program which can show you how to increase your muscle growth and really start to burn off fat.

More than likely you have fallen victim to the myths about weight loss and this program tells you what these myths are and why you ought to avoid them. The system itself was made by Craig Ballantyne as he wanted to help other individuals to reach their potential Another good point concerning this program is that you'll be able to do all of this in just 3 workouts every week. And furthermore, as it's not necessary to visit a gym to do these exercises, you will be happy to learn that these can be done within the privacy of your own house in just 45 minutes per workout. So in under 2 and 1/2 hours each week you'll be able to start reaching your goals.

The reality that Craig is a conditioning and strength trainer is only one of his accomplishments because he has additionally been highlighted in magazines such as Oxygen and Maximum Fitness. By using just those basic details you should understand that this is a real program created by a health professional.

One thing which Craig understands is that men's and women's bodies are actually different, so what might work to get a guy in shape will not work to get a woman in shape. So it is nice to see that Craig has established a different program for both males and females. Helping to make this the perfect program for guys or females.

His website is filled with accounts of success including, un-retouched photos of just some of his clients. And for those of you who've been fighting to get your six pack, you will learn just how to get them in as little as 12 weeks. That is one thing quite incredible all by itself.

There's a negative part to this program, even though the training is just forty five minutes, they can be extremely intense workouts. Keeping up together with this course might be an issue for some people as a result of the intenseness of the workouts. In the event that you happen to be among the individuals who are unable to keep up right from the start, if you choose to stick with it anyway, with time you'll be able to keep up throughout all the workout routines. Of course so long as you keep with it, soon it will be possible to do every one of the workouts without taking breaks.

In addition, you do not have to worry about losing your money if you can't keep up whatsoever, as Craig provides a two month, money back guarantee. Which puts all of the risk on Craig, because if this program doesn't do exactly what it says you receive a refund with no questions asked. You can also try this system out for 21 days for just $4.95. And also by providing a trial, people can test out the program to ascertain if it really is something they are able to do and receive results from. All in all you've got nothing to lose by trying this system, and due to the 21 day trial offer, any individual can afford the system.

Feel Like A Teenager Again

There is an old saying that you are only as old as you feel. There are many key factors to get you on your way to feeling like a teenager again. By making a commitment to eating right, exercising, living life to its fullest, and having fun, you can achieve your goal.

One of the major key factors is to eat right. Avoid junk food. This cannot be stressed enough no matter what your age you are. A healthy diet will help get your body back into shape. Another tremendous benefit to eating healthy foods is that you will have a lot more energy.

You don't necessarily have to be on a diet but rather just adjust the types of foods you eat. By staying away from unhealthy foods you will not only accomplish your goals, but also greatly reduce your chances of suffering from certain health conditions such as cancer and diabetes.

Another important tip is that you should try to avoid eating after dinner time. Many experts stipulate that having your last meal of the day before 6 p.m. and refraining from snacking before bed will help to control your weight. Of course, feel free to indulge in a steaming cup of herbal tea to soothe you into a restful sleep.

By committing to a weekly exercise routine you will begin to see positive changes in your body. You will start to loss weight, shape your muscles, and have so much more energy. If you are not used to exercising it would be wise to start out slowly, and work your way up to a harder routine.

Once you start to see and feel the benefits that exercise has to offer, you won't consider it to be a task, but rather part of your daily lifestyle. There is no limit to what you can achieve. Each day holds a new beginning.

The biggest key factor to your whole game plan should be to have fun. You can incorporate fun into your daily activities, as well as extra curricular activities. Don't be afraid to be spontaneous. When was the last time you saw a teenager stop to plan their day hour by hour.

Here's a good way to add spontaneity to your day. If you are just sitting around with nothing to do, call up a friend and invite them to go for a walk with you. This would let you achieve two of your key factors at once. Not only that, you will find yourself smiling as you and your friend stride along, chatting and enjoying the scenery.

After a few weeks of eating well, exercising, enjoying life and having fun, you will awake each day with a renewed zest for living. You will look in the mirror and see the teenager you once were smiling back at you.

Kayaking Around Horsey Island - Walking On Mars

Looking for a place to camp overnight on Horsey Island we were closing in on the rusty barges which are run aground in Hamford Water. Joel was up head and we could hear him cursing and as we reached him we could see why he was so upset. The sandy beach was there alright, but to get to it we would have to wade through five hundred yards or more of mud due to the tide now being completely out.

Before I knew it two of the guys from our group had already jumped out of their kayak seats and were knee deep in the mudflats and swearing liberally. I had not been that afraid for a long time and I remembered many stories of people being trapped in mud and stuck there until the tide came back in and they drowned.

I had a very bad feeling about the situation and knew the Walton backwaters were predominately marshland and mudflats. I tried to persuade the others that it was a bad idea and that we should call for help on our mobile phones. Before my appeal had even been considered everyone else had got out of their kayak seats and were taking their chances in the mud.

I was so tired and ached to get out of my inflatable kayak. A desperate need to just go for it took over me. I took a deep breath and leapt out of my kayak seat and sank immediately knee deep into cold, wet, martian like mud that surrounds Horsey Island. Within the first two steps I lost my trainers and was now wading barefoot. I was thankful only that it was so dark I could barely see where or what I was stepping on. What made progress through the mud infinitely worse was hauling my inflatable kayak weighed down with all my kit and paddles.

The two guys with the sit on top and the Perception kayak were moving marginally quicker due to these boats being significantly lighter. In the dark all I could hear was a royal amount of swearing as everyone tried to avoid falling over or plummeting too far into the foul-smelling mud.

It was impossible to take more than a few steps without collapsing on top of my inflatable kayak from exhaustion. I longed to just leave it there but I knew the tide would come back in soon and I would have no way of returning home. At one point I took a step forward and sank right up to my backside. At that split second I thought my luck had run out. I lunged backwards and grasped for my kayak. This scared me senseless as a few inches further and I would have been stuck and I doubt very much the others would have been able to pull me out.

I just wanted to be at home in my warm bed. Once I got my breath back I slowly and timidly stepped forward again. I could feel sharp pain in my feet and prayed it was just stones and shells I was stepping on and not broken parts of the rusting barges that we were passing uncomfortably close to.

I could just make out the shadow if Joel dragging the Perception kayak who was now a couple of hundred years up ahead. I shouted to him asking if he had made it to the beach yet and was dreadfully dismayed when he swore back that he had not. I cursed my inflatable kayak that although filled with air still weighed a ton. This was by far one of the worst experience of my life and I could not understand how on earth an easy paddle around Horsey Island had ended up with this nightmare scenario.

Heads down and with gritted determination we finally made it to the beach. Covered in mud and entirely confused we looked in the dark for somewhere to pitch out tents. I could not believe that both Nicks and my inflatable kayak had survived the ordeal un-punctured which is a testament to their toughness and durability.

Water Purification Systems for Camping, Hiking, Backpacking or RV Travel

Whether you head to the great outdoors in a pup tent or in an RV, you'll find that one of the first things that you need to think about is your water. Even for campsites that have water supplies and faucets available, you'll find that many people still decide that they want to bring along their own water purification system, and when you have researched the matter a little more, you'll realize that there are very good reasons to do so.

Make sure you water is safe wherever you go!

You'll find that whether you are camping, backpacking or even traveling full equipped in an RV that water purification is something that you cannot afford to ignore.

For instance, when you are simply using a campground, you'll find that there are many different taps and faucets that run to an underground reservoir at some point. While this water is usually drinkable, you should always check with the park rangers or other authorities to figure out what the water situation is like.

Drinking the water can make you sick!

You'll find that if you are health-conscious that there is a good chance that you will not want to risk drinking untreated water. When you realize that you are risking bacteria like E. coli and viruses like Hepatitis A, the risk of both of which can be eliminated by the use of a water purifier, you'll see why it is so important to have on with you.

When you are looking for the right water purifier for you, you'll find that it has a great deal to do with what you are using it for. For instance, a camping water purification is very effective, but it should also be quite portable. While many people will simply bring along a water purifier that has been mounted on a pitcher, this might not be ideal when you are planning to hike miles in day and need to conserve space in your backpack.

Of course, if you are in an RV and have all the comforts of a home away from home, you'll find that a water purifier mounted on a pitcher will work out just fine.

When you decide to find a good water purifier to take with you when you are camping, remember that filter sizes will differ and they will range from being able to handle 1.0 microns to 4.0 microns. When you are thinking about picking out what water purifier to use, remember that you will want to chose one that will have easily replaceable water cartridges.

While you might balk a little at the expense, you'll find that this is still far cheaper and more efficient than carrying bottled water. Make sure that you have at least one replacement cartridge with; most people carry a few and store them in different areas, to make sure that they do not risk getting ruined.

When you are on camping trip, make sure that your stay safe by drinking clean water. Don't trust that clear mountain brook so ensure your health and those of your companions by making sure that you have a good water purifier with you!

Running To Lose Weight -the Right Way To Do It

If you're thinking about running to lose weight, this is a very practical idea, as running can be one of the best ways to get into shape and shed excess pounds. If you go about it the right way, running can be a safe and enjoyable activity, as well as being great for your health. There are, however, certain factors you should keep in mind before you start running, and we'll be covering some of these in this article.

When you're ready to begin running, you should start out by having the right gear. Your running shoes are the most important piece of equipment you need for running. Unless you have a pair of athletic shoes that are in good condition, you may want to start off with a new pair. This will ensure you get off to a good start, with plenty of support for your feet and the rest of your body. Having the right shoes isn't only essential for your feet and ankles, but also for your knees and back as well. If you have a favorite brand of athletic shoes, you should stick with this, although it's best to get shoes made specifically for running, not some other sport.

The reason it takes patience is because nothing happens with running overnight. It very seldom happens that a program like this helps you to lose weight nearly as fast as you want. When you first start this program your main concern should be about the running and not about weight, because that will come later. Don't be surprised, when you start running, you will probably gain weight before you start losing, because you usually eat more while your muscles are getting firmer. To burn more calories and lose weight, it is necessary to continue to run until the periods of time that the body gets used to running becomes longer. There are many different methods to achieve your goal of weight loss, and running is one of them. When you start running to get into better physical shape and stick with it, you will be one of those who lose weight.

Success in running is built upon a foundation of actually taking pleasure in the exercise itself. Dedicated runners tend to push themselves, absolutely loving every minute of the run regardless of the pain that they may feel.

If you do not like running, more than likely, you will stop doing this in no time at all. Running should be given a chance; try running for a few months before you give up on this form of exercise. You really should enjoy running if you want to use it as a weight loss tool; if you don't like to run, find another exercise that can help you shed the pounds that you actually appreciate.

It is our hope that this article has presented several ways that you can try running in an attempt to lose weight successfully. You will definitely become fit and trim if you follow a consistent regimen that includes running on a regular basis. Being aware of the present moment is the secret to enjoying running every day. The best thing to do is create long-term goals, run every day, and keep your goal of weight loss and running in mind every time you run.

Tips On Learning To Ice Skate

Softly sliding over the ice and doing beautiful spins whilst staying on your feet is something you might have always wished to master. Sadly, for most of us, we wind up plummeting on our backs or accomplishing an automatic split every time we get on the ice. It is not hard to learn how to ice skate properly but don't forget that it requires lots of practice. You are not going to become an expert skater right away.

The very first thing that you will need to do is to buy excellent skates. The skates need to fit you adequately and are available in nearly all shoe sizes. You ought to take into account the fact that hardly any individuals have feet which are the identical size. You should measure the breadth of your feet while you are seated to guarantee the very best fit. There are a number of very good brands that you can examine but, if you're just beginning, even a good pair of rental skates will do.

After donning your skates, try walking around with them on to get accustomed to them. Most skating rinks have rubberized mats that you can walk on, but remember to keep your skate guards on. As soon as you've become a little bit accustomed to the skates, you're prepared to head out on to the ice. You can skate around the rink while holding on to the wall to obtain a sense of the ice. The secret of good skating is to be comfortable and discover the proper strategies.

Now learn to sustain your balance whilst standing on the ice. Hold out your arms at shoulder level, flex your knees a little and remember to bend forward not backwards. Try not to keep hold of the wall or use some other form of support. As soon as you can balance, make an effort to skate a bit faster. If you are feeling as if you're likely to fall, flex your knees and hold out your arms on each side.

Falling is a natural part of skating and you may fall often when you're learning so you might as well practice falling. If you sense that you're going to fall, flex your knees and undertake a squatting posture. You can also put out your hands to take the impact and make the fall much softer. You should also practice and figure out how to stop. You can stop by bending the knees inwards and continually pushing out with one or both of your feet. You should put some pressure on the ice so that your feet do not slide out from under you.
